Resize an image to 2560×1080 pixels (UWFHD)
To resize an image to 2560×1080 px, enter 2560 × 1080 px and pick crop to fill so the 64:27 (2.37:1) frame is not stretched: a 4:3 phone photo loses 43.8% of its area (a centred 4032×1701 crop). The result has 2.76 megapixels; as a JPEG, a detailed outdoor photo is about 907 KB at the panel's default quality 85 (689 KB at quality 75).

What 2560×1080 means in pixels
2560×1080 is a landscape frame, 2.37 times as wide as it is tall, 2,764,800 pixels in total (2.76 megapixels). Its sides reduce to 64:27, a 2.37:1 strip that no camera or screen shape comes close to, so every photo needs a heavy crop to fill it.
That is 22.7% of a 12 MP phone frame; after the crop to fill the phone picture is reduced by 0.635×, so fine detail such as hair and text survives. Shown 1:1 it fills 2560×1080 CSS px on a standard screen and 1280×540 CSS px on a 2× (Retina-class) screen; at 72 DPI the same pixels span 35.6×15 inches.
Decoded for editing it occupies 10.5 MB of memory (4 bytes per pixel); uncompressed 24-bit RGB would be 7.91 MB, which is why the downloadable JPEG, PNG or WebP is far smaller.

Getting 2560×1080 from a phone, camera or screenshot
Filling 2560×1080 from a Full HD screenshot (1920×1080, 16:9) loses the least (25%); a vertical phone video frame (1080×1920, 9:16) loses the most (76.3%). "Fit inside" keeps the whole picture instead and the file comes out at the size in the last column; "Pad with colour" adds bars to reach the full 2560×1080.
| Starting image | Crop to fill keeps | Area lost | Scale | Fit inside gives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 MP phone photo (4032×3024, 4:3) | 4032×1701 (top and bottom cut) | 43.8% | 0.635× (reduced) | 1440×1080 |
| 24 MP camera photo (6000×4000, 3:2) | 6000×2531 (top and bottom cut) | 36.7% | 0.427× (reduced) | 1620×1080 |
| Full HD screenshot (1920×1080, 16:9) | 1920×810 (top and bottom cut) | 25% | 1.333× (enlarged) | 1920×1080 |
| Vertical phone video frame (1080×1920, 9:16) | 1080×456 (top and bottom cut) | 76.3% | 2.37× (enlarged) | 608×1080 |
When 2560×1080 means enlarging
After the crop to fill, the kept region has to be enlarged 1.333× from a Full HD screenshot and 2.37× from a vertical phone video frame. Enlarging adds pixels but no detail, so start from the largest original you have, or choose a smaller target if the destination allows it: 2000×1000 landscape or 2048×1080 (DCI 2K) would need less stretching.
How many KB is a 2560×1080 image?
Estimated from encodes of real sample images measured with sharp 0.35.5 / libvips 8.18.7 on 31 October 2026, interpolated to 2,764,800 pixels. The outdoor photo at 2560×1080 is about 689 KB at quality 75 and a scanned page about 303 KB; your file will differ with detail and noise.

How to resize a picture to 2560×1080
-
Add the picture
Drop, paste or pick the photo in the PixelFit panel at the top of this page; it is decoded in your browser and never uploaded.
-
Set the size
Enter 2560 as the width and 1080 as the height in pixels (the panel is already set to 2560×1080).
-
Choose how it fits
Choose crop to fill to keep the 64:27 (2.37:1) frame without stretching (a phone photo loses 43.8%, top and bottom cut). Fit inside keeps the whole picture as a 1440×1080 file instead; Pad with colour puts that on a full 2560×1080 canvas.
-
Pick the format and download
Choose JPG or WebP; without a KB limit PixelFit saves JPG at quality 85, about 907 KB for a detailed outdoor photo. Add a KB limit if the upload has one or the file should be smaller, then download the 2560x1080 file.

Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to 2560x1080?
Open the image in the PixelFit panel on this page, set 2560 × 1080 px, choose crop to fill so nothing is stretched and download. From a 12 MP phone photo that crops 43.8% (top and bottom cut) and scales the rest by 0.635×.
What aspect ratio is 2560x1080?
2560x1080 has an aspect ratio of 64:27 (2.37:1): landscape, width ÷ height = 2.3704. No other common target has exactly this ratio: the frame is 2.37 times as wide as it is tall, and the closest familiar shape is 2:1, 18.5% away, so converting between them means a visible crop.
Is 2560x1080 good for print?
At 300 DPI 2560x1080 prints 8.53×3.6 in (21.7×9.1 cm), enough for a print of that size at full density. At 150 DPI it stretches to 17.07×7.2 in.
How big is a 2560x1080 JPEG file?
For a detailed outdoor photo about 689 KB at quality 75 (522 KB at 60, 1.08 MB at 90, 907 KB at the panel's default quality 85); a head-and-shoulders portrait is about 232 KB at quality 75, estimated from measured encodes. A flat graphic is smaller, a noisy low-light photo larger.
How does 2560x1080 look on a high-density screen?
On a 2× screen 2560x1080 is sharp when shown at 1280×540 CSS px; shown larger, the browser enlarges it. A slot of 2560×1080 CSS px on a 2× screen needs a 5120×2160 file.
