Compress an image to any KB or MB size

One page per file-size limit that upload forms use, from 5 KB to 10 MB, plus the minimum–maximum ranges exam and job portals ask for. 50 pages in this index, in 4 groups.

Each page opens the compressor preset to that limit and shows what fits, measured on 1,575 encodes of real public-domain photos and scans: the largest pixel size per quality, the quality a fixed pixel size allows, and the byte arithmetic behind "KB". PixelFit lowers JPEG quality first, then scales the pixels down by the square root of the overshoot, so it stops near the largest image that fits; when a form also sets a minimum it raises quality, and only pads the file (opt-in, pixels unchanged) as a last resort.

Ranges (minimum and maximum)

Every page in this index opens the PixelFit tool already set to its target, so you can drop a photo and download the result straight away. Nothing is uploaded: the resizing and compression run in your browser. Figures were checked on ; for an application form, verify the size rules with the official notice before you submit.
